About this test
A malignant tumour develops when numerous mutations accumulate in the DNA of cells. The choice of the appropriate treatment regimen, including targeted therapy, depends on the type of these mutations.
The test we offer, based on genomic sequencing, involves the analysis of the entire coding sequence of the BRCA1 and BRCA2 genes – without distinguishing whether the variants observed in the patient are germline (inherited) or somatic (characteristic of the tumour). The test may be particularly important when qualifying for treatment with PARP inhibitors.
Two 10-millilitre Streck tubes of the patient's blood are required to perform the monitoring test.
