Scope of consultations
Oncology consultation / “Second look” — second opinion
A specialist assessment of the medical history, diagnostic tests performed to date and treatment applied for an oncology patient. It is in particular intended for patients actively treated for breast, ovarian, prostate or pancreatic cancer.
- Independent confirmation of the diagnosis.
- Analysis of the therapeutic decisions made to date.
- Discussion of further management, including treatment options such as clinical trials if available.
- Indication of supportive therapies that improve quality of life and symptom control where possible.
Preventive oncology consultation for healthy individuals at elevated cancer risk
A visit intended for healthy people with an increased risk of cancer (e.g. family burden, positive genetic test results, BRCA1/2 mutations or other predispositions).
- Assessment of the individual cancer risk profile.
- Recommendations on screening and diagnostic tests.
- A health monitoring plan (so-called surveillance).
- Recommendations on lifestyle prevention and possible medical interventions.
- Indications for genetic or psychological consultation.
For a “Second look”, at least 5 days before the consultation please send us your imaging and histopathology results, molecular/genetic test results (if performed) and the full treatment documentation (including hospital treatment and discharge records, e.g. from chemotherapy).
