Warsaw Genomics
Help for cancer patients from Ukraine

A special helpline for oncological patients from Ukraine launched by Warsaw Genomics and Rakiety Oncology Foundation.

About the project

The people of Ukraine who cross the Polish border in fear of war are people for whom the whole world has fallen into ruins. Some of them were treated chronically, others were waiting for admission to hospital, others for consultation with a specialist in order to be able to continue taking care of their health. There are also people with neoplastic diseases for whom every day without treatment can affect their future life.

As part of the support for oncological patients from Ukraine, Warsaw Genomics, actively involved in the activities in the field of oncogenetic diagnostics and prevention, and the Rakiety Oncology Foundation, joined forces and launched a special helpline responding to the needs of patients from Ukraine.

By contacting the hotline you get:

  • information about the possibility of continuing oncological treatment in Poland,
  • help in finding a facility that will continue oncological treatment,
  • assistance in organizing medical transport to Poland,
  • support in obtaining the necessary genetic tests to start anti-cancer therapies reimbursed under the National Health Fund,
  • assistance in financing treatment and providing a sub-account for the collection of funds for treatment,
  • support of specialists: psychologist, psycho-oncologist for people undergoing treatment,
  • the possibility of arranging a free medical consultation with Dr Anna Wójcicka in the field of targeted therapies in oncology and other specialists,
  • assistance in translating medical documentation,
  • arranging to issue prescriptions for needed medications.

In order to facilitate contact with citizens of Ukraine, the helpline is supported in both Polish and Ukrainian.

Since the beginning of the hotline's operation, we have received over 200 phone calls, providing support to all patients in need.
