Warsaw Genomics
Fighting the COVID19 pandemic: Coalition of Companies

In the face of the epidemic threat, the Warsaw Genomics team has focused its efforts and resources on ensuring the availability of molecular tests to confirm or rule out active coronavirus infection.

Establishing the Coalition

Ladies and Gentlemen,

in the face of the epidemic threat, the Warsaw Genomics team has focused its efforts and resources on ensuring the availability of molecular tests to confirm or rule out active coronavirus infection. Continuously since March 20 2020 we carried out SARS-CoV-2 tests using the RT-PCR method in accordance with the recommendations of the World Health Organization.

Efficient launch of diagnostic tests for coronavirus in the Warsaw Genomics laboratory and enabling the implementation of free diagnostic tests for the health care system would not be possible without the involvement of the Coalition of companies supporting the fight against coronavirus. Thanks to the funds provided by donors in the total amount of PLN 10,917,032, we have carried out 27,293 genetic tests free of charge for hospitals and sanitary and epidemiological stations - for patients, doctors, nurses, paramedics, as well as residents and staff of nursing homes .

We would like to thank all donors for purchasing the tests and donating them to the health care system.

From April 15 2020 the financing of genetic tests for SARS-CoV-2 carried out by Warsaw Genomics for hospitals and sanitary and epidemiological stations, by the decision of the Prime Minister, was taken over by the Ministry of Health, in accordance with the Act of March 2, 2020 on special solutions related to prevention, counteraction and combating COVID‑19, other infectious diseases and the emergencies they cause. This means the end of our acceptance of new contributions to the Coalition of Companies.

We would like to thank all the companies, institutions and organizations that joined the Coalition of Companies supporting the fight against the coronavirus in our country, for their support, commitment and solidarity - so much needed at a time when we all struggled not only with the virus, but also fear for our health and our loved ones.

Yours faithfully,

Prof. dr hab. n. med. Krystian J jazdewski
