Whole-Exome analysis (WES) - data reanalysis

The reanalysis of WES (Whole Exome Sequencing) consists of reprocessing the data obtained during a previous exome sequencing (WES), performed in our laboratory.

This is not a re-sequencing of the genetic material – the reanalysis involves a repeat bioinformatic analysis of the existing raw data using the latest databases, analytical tools, and current clinical guidelines (including OMIM, Orpha, ClinVar, ClinGen).

Thanks to the continuous development of genetic knowledge and the publication of new pathogenic variants, reanalysis may reveal changes that were not interpreted as clinically significant at the time of the first analysis.

Important information:

• Reanalysis does not require re-collection or re-shipment of biological material.
• The analysis is based solely on the data obtained as part of the original WES test.
• The result of the reanalysis is issued in the form of a genetic report consistent with current clinical standards and the laboratory's quality system.
• When ordering a reanalysis, the ID number of the original WES order must be provided (in the diagnosis field) so we know which data to re-analyze.
