About this test
A malignant tumour develops when numerous mutations accumulate in the DNA of cells. The choice of the appropriate treatment regimen, including targeted therapy, depends on the type of these mutations.
The test we offer, based on genomic sequencing, involves the analysis of the entire coding sequence of the EGFR, ALK, ROS1, KRAS genes – without distinguishing whether the variants observed in the patient are germline (inherited) or somatic (characteristic of the tumour). The test may be important for determining the optimal therapy, including qualification for targeted therapies.
Please note that the decision on whether a given therapy can be used depends on the clinical circumstances and the decision of the attending physician.
To perform the test we need a fragment of tumour tissue (a paraffin block) and the histopathological preparations (slides) made from it.
